Sunshine Coast BC

British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast is most easily accessed by air or by a 40-minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay. Though not an island, it is surrounded by long fjords and steep, rugged terrain, and there are no access roads connecting it to the mainland.

Besides its scenic beauty, part of the Sunshine Coast’s charm is the many communities that stretch along its main highway and harbours. AA’s District 46 includes the communities of Port Mellon, Langdale, Gibsons, Roberts Creek, Davis Bay, Sechelt, Madeira Park, Pender Harbour, and Egmont.

There are many Meetings available to newcomers and long time members alike, that take place 7 days a week in numerous locations. Our doors are always open and the coffee is always on.

The Structure of AA

The heart of AA is the group. Without groups, there would be no AA meetings. Each AA group elects a General Service Representative (GSR), who attends District Meetings that are made up of all the groups in the district and other service positions. The GSRs elect a Chair, who is also called the district committee member (DCM). The DCM is the link between the group’s GSR, and the area service structure, including the area’s delegate to the General Service Conference.
